Red grapes and blueberries for a bulletproof immune system
At Oregon, US university researchers have found that the consumption of red grapes and blueberries enhance shield that protects our body from harmful external factors.
During the analysis of 446 compounds in humans, which helps to enhance the immune processes experts in the Linus Pauling Institute, which is part of Oregon State University, pointed to two – resveratrol and pterostilbene.
Resveratrol is found in red grapes, and the pterostilbene in bilberry. Both molecules in combination with vitamin D, showed a large influence on the formation of one of the antimicrobial peptides – CAMP gene, which is involved in the function of the immune system.
Tests were performed in the laboratory environment, but scientists believe that the regular consumption of both fruits helps to improve the resistance of immune system.
